You will own vertical slices of the aqd platform, developing durable Temporal workflows and LLM-backed agent infrastructure that legal teams depend on. Working in a TypeScript monorepo, you’ll ensure that AI agents execute complex contract tasks while human experts maintain ultimate accountability for the outcome. Work in a highly autonomous, remote-first environment where engineering excellence is prioritized through strict architecture, ADRs, and fixture-driven evals. Solve the "black box" problem of AI in legal-tech by creating traceable, audit-ready systems where security and durability are the core product. What You Will Do Develop and maintain end-to-end features using Next.js, Drizzle ORM, and PostgreSQL with row-level security for high-stakes multi-tenant environments. Architect durable, long-running agent workflows using Temporal that survive restarts and deployments to ensure contract processes never lose state. Integrate and evaluate LLM agents using Claude and LiteLLM, implementing rigorous fixture-driven evals to gate production releases and ensure accuracy. The ideal candidate Has 3+ years of experience shipping production-grade TypeScript (Node.js/React) and deep expertise in PostgreSQL database design and management. Possesses hands-on experience with durable workflow engines like Temporal or Inngest and has deployed production LLM-backed features with systematic evals. Demonstrates proficiency with infrastructure-as-code via Terraform and thrives in an AI-augmented development loop using parallel agent worktrees. Who are Jack & Jill? Ok, I'll go first.
