Senior Technical Platform Engineer Location: Dubai, UAE (Onsite) **Also, for those open to relocation to the UAE** We’re seeking a Senior Technical Platform Engineer to build, automate and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. Terraform is the primary skill for this role, supported by experience with Ansible and Bicep. Microsoft Azure experience is highly desirable. You’ll work closely with engineering, infrastructure and security teams to standardise deployments, improve platform reliability and reduce manual administration. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure-as-code configurations. Manage Terraform state, environment separation, versioning and infrastructure changes. Use Ansible for configuration management, provisioning and operational automation. Develop and maintain Bicep templates for Azure infrastructure where appropriate. Integrate infrastructure deployment and validation into CI/CD pipelines. Build and support cloud services across networking, compute, storage, identity and monitoring. Apply security controls, access policies and governance standards across environments. Troubleshoot deployment failures, configuration drift and platform issues. Improve platform availability, performance and cost efficiency. Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and engineering standards. Review infrastructure code and mentor other engineers. Required Skills and Experience Experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure or infrastructure automation. Advanced, hands-on Terraform experience, including reusable modules, remote state, state locking and multi-environment deployments. Practical experience with Ansible playbooks, roles and configuration management. Experience developing or maintaining Bicep templates. Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, security, compute and storage. Experience with Git, pull requests and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and communicate technical decisions clearly. Experience handling secrets and credentials securely within automation workflows. Desirable Experience Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including Azure networking, virtual machines, storage, Entra ID, RBAC and Azure Monitor. Azure landing zones, Azure Policy and enterprise cloud governance. Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. PowerShell, Python or Bash scripting. Docker, Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service.
