The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing manual and automated testing activities to ensure software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability. The role takes ownership of quality activities within assigned products or features, identifies quality risks early in the development lifecycle, supports timely defect resolution, and contributes to improving testing practices and overall product quality . Key Responsibilities Plan, design, and execute manual and automated testing activities to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability. Develop, maintain, and optimize comprehensive test cases and test scenarios based on requirements, acceptance criteria, technical changes, and identified quality risks. Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using established automation tools and frameworks, contributing to improved automation coverage and testing efficiency. Design and execute performance tests, analyze results, and identify potential performance issues and bottlenecks. Review and analyze requirements, designs, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, dependencies, testability concerns, and quality risks early in the development lifecycle. Contribute to test planning for complex products or features, including test scope, scenarios, test data, environments, dependencies, and effort estimates. Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and other applicable testing, while identifying, documenting, tracking, and verifying defects through resolution. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, communicate testing progress and quality risks, and support QA Engineers through technical knowledge sharing and consistent testing practices. Key Deliverables Comprehensive test plans for assigned products or features, covering test scope, approach, scenarios, test data, environments, dependencies, risks, and effort estimates. Complete and optimized test cases and test scenarios aligned with requirements, acceptance criteria, technical changes, and identified quality risks. Maintained and executed automated test scripts using established automation frameworks, with measurable improvements in automation coverage where applicable. Completed performance testing with documented results, analysis, identified bottlenecks, and supporting evidence. Completed functional, regression, integration, API, and other applicable testing with adequate coverage and within planned timelines. Accurate and traceable defect reports with appropriate prioritization, supporting evidence, verification results, and maintained traceability across requirements, test cases, defects, and results. Clear test cycle and quality reports highlighting progress, coverage, defects, blockers, risks, performance findings, and overall testing outcomes. Documented contributions to improving test coverage, automation, testing efficiency, and knowledge sharing while following established QA practices and frameworks. Job Requirements Education, Certification & Years of experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field Professional certifications or licenses required or preferred for this role: Master's degree, ISTQB test certificates Minimum number of years of relevant work experience required for this role: 4 to 6 Skills & Competencies Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze software quality issues, identify root causes, and apply logical and structured approaches to problem resolution. Attention to Detail: Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, edge cases, and deviations from requirements and expected behavior.
