Senior AI / Automation Engineer Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE Employment: Full-time 12 FTE- Contract to perm The Role We are seeking a Senior AI / Automation Engineer to embed AI safely into real enterprise workflows. This is not primarily a chatbot or RAG role. The successful candidate will combine strong software engineering with production experience in LLMs, agentic systems, document intelligence and enterprise automation. A core question in this role is: What happens when the model is wrong? What You Will Own Build production LLM and agentic workflow capabilities. Develop tool-calling agents that interact with enterprise APIs. Implement document extraction, classification and reasoning. Build retrieval/context-management patterns for enterprise knowledge. Integrate AI services with deterministic workflow systems. Implement structured outputs, validation, confidence thresholds and human review mechanisms. Build automated evaluation and regression-testing pipelines. Design guardrails and policy controls. Implement model routing and inference-cost controls. Monitor latency, token consumption, quality and failure rates. Design fallback behavior when AI cannot safely complete a task. Determine when deterministic software is more appropriate than an LLM. Required Experience Strong software-engineering foundation. Production experience delivering LLM applications to real users. Strong Python development. API and service development. RAG, embeddings and structured/tool calling. Asynchronous processing and state management. Testing, observability and production error handling. Automated LLM evaluation. Understanding of context windows, model economics and inference cost. Experience taking AI systems beyond prototype stage. *** Only successful candidates will be contacted ***
