Senior Shopify Developer Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Shopify Developer role located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Senior Shopify Developer will lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of the Omnia Stores Shopify e-commerce websites, ensuring a seamless, secure, and visually appealing shopping experience. Daily responsibilities include developing and customizing Shopify themes, building reusable sections and features, integrating third-party apps and APIs, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role involves collaborating with design, marketing, and operations teams to support product launches, promotional campaigns, and improvements to the customer journey. The Senior Shopify Developer will take ownership of technical delivery, code quality, website performance, and reliability, with a strong focus on mobile usability, technical SEO, and conversion optimization. Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining Shopify e-commerce stores, with demonstrated ownership of complex development projects. Advanced proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive front-end development. Extensive experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0, theme architecture, custom sections, templates, metafields, and metaobjects. Experience integrating Shopify APIs, webhooks, third-party applications, and external business systems. Ability to develop custom Shopify apps and back-end integrations using Node.js or a comparable technology. Strong understanding of Shopify product catalogs, collections, navigation, cart functionality, and checkout customization options and limitations. Experience optimizing site speed, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. Familiarity with analytics, marketing pixels, and tracking integrations, including GA4 and Google Tag Manager. Experience supporting international storefronts, multilingual content, and multiple currencies through Shopify Markets. Proficiency in Git, structured testing, debugging, code reviews, and controlled deployment workflows. Ability to translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions, estimate development work, and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide other developers and work effectively with non-technical teams. A portfolio demonstrating successful Shopify projects and relevant e-commerce experience. Relevant diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or equivalent practical experience.
